Blood Like Fire: In 2007, immediately following my first trip to Syria, a song materializes in a matter of minutes… as if playing on a radio in my head … why such a dark song after such a beautiful experience? ... four years later, in March, 2011, the Syrian revolution begins and the lyrics find their intended meaning… a brutal government crackdown in response to protests for basic freedoms … I make a music video for Blood Like Fire with Youtube clips shot by Syrians in the streets… an urgent attempt to make people aware of what’s happening …the beginning of a new journey.
